Thermal desorption apparatus is a multi-functional pre-concentration technique combined with gas chromatography (GC and GC-MS) for the analysis of volatile and semi-volatile organic compounds (VOCs and SVOCs) in a variety of samples. By extracting volatile organic compounds from the sample and concentrating them into a very small volume of carrier gas, the thermal desorption meter greatly enhances the sensitivity of trace target compounds, helps reduce interference, and achieves routine detection of analytes at ppb or lower concentrations.
