Determination of Benzene in Drinking Water and Its Source

According to the method of determining benzene, toluene, o-xylene, m-xylene, p-xylene, styrene and cumene in drinking water and its water source by headspace-capillary column gas chromatography specified in the national standard "Sanitary Standard for Drinking Water" (GB5749-2006), the experiment was carried out by using the HS-60 automatic headspace sampler developed and produced by Beijing Beifenpu Instrument Technology Co., Ltd. The experimental results show that: the components in 8 were determined within 11min and had good separation effect. Different components can obtain good linear relationship in the concentration range of (1~100)ug/L, and the correlation coefficient (r) is 0.99~0.999. The minimum detection limits are: benzene 0.7ug/L; Toluene 1ug/L; Ethylbenzene 2ug/L; m-and p-xylene 1ug/L; Styrene 2ug/L; o-xylene 3ug/L; cumene 3ug/L. Conclusion: TP-6000 all-round headspace sampler than conventional water bath heating and then sampling analysis: high degree of automation, simple and convenient, good reproducibility, improve the sensitivity, suitable for the detection of benzene content in water
