Analytical sampling technology is a widely used sampling technology, and the main equipment for thermal analysis sampling technology isthermal analyzer.

Pyrolysis sampling is not completely equivalent to headspace analysis. The principle of pyrolysis sampling is the same as that of purge and trap technology sampling. Thermal desorption can be regarded as a part of purge and trap sampling, and pyrolysis sampling can be regarded as a special case of headspace sampling technology.

The thermal desorption device can be an independent thermal desorption device not connected to the chromatograph, or it can be desorbed by the heating device of the trap tube of the purge and trap sampler. In this case, the sample sucked in by the pyrolysis is a special case of the purge and trap sampler.

The thermal desorption device can also be installed directly at the inlet of the chromatograph, which can be a special case of the pyrolysis sampler.

At present, thermolysis adsorption technology has been widely used in life science, industry, agriculture, environmental protection, pharmaceutical, tobacco, education, petrochemical, toxicology, food, electronics and many other fields.

Then let's take a look at the principle of thermal analyzer.

Thermo-analyzer Organic compounds are captured by a glass tube filled with an adsorbent and then introduced into a gas chromatograph, by which these organic compounds are separated and determined.

During the analysis, two types of sorbent tubes are used for the two-stage analysis:

First, the compound is retained in a large-capacity adsorption tube (sampling tube) by large-volume sampling, and then heated and decomposed into the next capillary focusing tube (primary resolution).

In the second step, the sample enriched in the capillary focusing tube is heated and analyzed again, and then introduced into the gas chromatography capillary (secondary analysis). The capillary focusing tube is used for secondary enrichment and separation. The analyte enriched in the capillary focusing tube can be introduced into the gas chromatography with a small amount of carrier gas, which improves the injection efficiency and can obtain clear compound peaks. The focusing tube technology avoids the interference of water, the analysis of polar compounds is enhanced.

The thermal analyzer can be easily used for various sampling methods, such as using a dry cell air sampler to sample the external environment and analyze it in the laboratory, or using a mobile thermal analyzer/gas chromatograph platform to achieve on-site sampling and analysis.
