Gas chromatography installation conditions

Dear users:

Thank you for purchasing the gas chromatograph of Beiten Temple Company. In order to ensure the smooth installation of your instrument, please prepare the following conditions before the instrument arrives according to the configuration of the purchased instrument. Thank you for your cooperation!

1.1 Test bench space requirements

Length x width x height (mm)2000 x 700 x 8000 sheets/set

The instrument table is required to be strong and stable, with a distance of more than 300mm from the wall.

1.2

1. TP series GC has a volume of 457 × 620 × 570mm and weighs 40kg. In addition to the GC instrument, the test bench should have enough space and load-bearing capacity to accommodate its accessories (such as computers, printers, gas sources, etc.);

2. The upper space of the GC must be free of obstacles close to or touching the top of the instrument, interfering with cooling. including the absence of shelves or other obstructions;

3. Hot air is discharged from the outlet behind the GC column box. In order not to affect the escape of hot air, the instrument is more than 30cm away from the wall or obstacle;

4. The laboratory bench has enough space to place the analysis sample, and the laboratory has a special space to place the gas chromatography accessories.

1.2Power Requirements

1. Voltage 220V ± 10%;

2. Frequency 50Hz ± 0.5Hz;

3. Power 2000W

4. The power socket should be configured separately, the voltage phase should be the same as the power phase of the instrument, the voltage between the neutral line and the ground line should not exceed 3V, and the grounding should be good.

5. Single-phase alternating current, separate power supply. The best configuration of AC power supply, power 5000W above.

1.3Laboratory environment

1. The indoor ambient temperature is 15 ℃ ~ 35 ℃.

2. The relative humidity is not more than 85%.

3. There is no strong electromagnetic interference, strong heat radiation source and severe vibration around the instrument. Do not put it in the same room with other instruments with flame.

4. Indoor air without harmful gases, flammable, explosive and corrosive gases.

5. Good indoor ventilation.

6. If hydrogen cylinders are used for gas supply, an independent outdoor cylinder room should be provided.

1.4 Gas emission

During sample analysis, some components may be harmful, or when hydrogen is used as carrier gas, the exhaust gas needs to be discharged into the ventilation kitchen. At this time, GC can be placed in a fume hood or a ventilation hood can be made above the instrument. A large-diameter exhaust pipe is connected to the ventilation equipment to ensure normal exhaust.

Note: The first four points must be clear before installation to ensure complete installation.

Preparation of experimental reagents, materials and tools required for 1.5 installation

1.5.1 Experimental Reagent

Ethanol or acetone 5mL, ethanol or acetone is needed to wash the injection needle in the experiment. Soap liquid, in order to check whether the instrument pipeline is leaking, soapy water needs to be prepared, and can also be configured with washing powder or hand sanitizer. Purified water is used for preparing lye for gas generator.

1.5.2Experimental materials

small beaker, large beaker, glass rod, dropper, dropper latex head, stopwatch

1.5.3Installation Tools

There are necessary tools in the spare parts box. If steel cylinder gas is used as the gas source, the user needs to prepare one.Big wrench.

1.6 Installation Requirements for Air Source

The types of gases commonly used in TP series GC chromatographs are hydrogen, nitrogen and air. These three gases can be cylinder gas (nitrogen cylinder, hydrogen cylinder and purified air cylinder) orGas generator(Hydrogen and nitrogen gas generator and fully automatic air source). When the gas source has been purchased, there are certain requirements for the installation conditions of the gas source.

If equipped with FID detector, generally use nitrogen or helium as carrier gas, hydrogen and air as gas and gas; if only equipped with TCD detector, as long as the way to the carrier gas can be. The carrier gas source is preferably hydrogen, followed by helium or nitrogen.

1.6.1 Gas Cylinder Installation Requirements

Since the cylinder is not easy to transport, it is recommended to buy it locally or in a more convenient place for later ventilation. Required gas and purity,

The pressure requirements are as follows:

Table 1 Required Gases and Requirements for Gases

 Gas Instrument inlet pressure Purity

Carrier gas (nitrogen, hydrogen or helium) 0.40MPa 99.999%

Hydrogen 0.30MPa 99.999%

Air 0.40MPa oil-free drying

When cylinder gas is used, there should be an independent cylinder room outside, and the cover of the cylinder room should be movable and easy to be lifted.

Gas cylinders should be used for gas chromatography special pressure reducing valve to avoid pollution of gas, carrier gas should be usedtwo-stage pressure reducing valveWhen hydrogen and air are used as gas and auxiliary gassingle stage pressure reducing valve.

1.6.2 Gas generator installation requirements

When using nitrogen, hydrogen generator and fully automatic air source, it should be placed within 2 meters near the instrument, and the setting space is 1 square meter, which can be placed on the test bench or on the ground.

1.6.3 Gas pipeline

Gas chromatograph dedicated gas pipe is divided into: stainless steel pipe, copper pipe, polyethylene plastic pipe. The gas path for the detector and injection port of the GC is connected to supply air. Stainless steel pipes and copper pipes are hard materials that are not easy to leak, but they cannot be bent arbitrarily during use. When the requirements for the instrument is not high, you can use imported plastic pipe instead of stainless steel pipe.

TP series GC chromatograph attached to the gas pipe for imported plastic hose, according to the configuration of the instrument length is different, generally for the use of gas generator required length. If you are using steel cylinders, because the steel cylinders are far away from the instrument, you generally need to order additional gas pipes (imported plastic hoses or stainless steel pipes, copper pipes). The specific length should be measured according to the length of the cylinder from the instrument. Cylinders placed in the indoor users need to purchase another 10-20 meters or so gas pipe, imported plastic hose or stainless steel pipe can be. Cylinders placed in the outdoor far away from the user, should try to use stainless steel pipe.

1.7 Computers and software

Before the instrument is used, it is necessary to install special software and acquisition card for chromatography, and a computer is required. Configuration: with optical drive, windosw2000 the above system, at least three USB interface and a serial port.

Guide to the construction of gas chromatography rooms

The floor of the chromatography room is generally terrazzo floor and floor. The chromatography table is 0.75 meters high and 0.80 meters wide. The table top is 0.5 meters away from the wall. Terrazzo is used with rubber sheet on it. The tail gas of TCD detector should be connected to the outside with pipelines. Gas for chromatography can be used with air compression pump, hydrogen can be used with hydrogen generator, and three gas generator can also be used. The chromatography room should be equipped with sample processing room, and the sample processing room should be equipped with fume hood, water supply and discharge, and medicine cabinet.

Circuit: single-phase three-wire (fire, zero, ground), instrument chromatography chamber three-phase five-wire.

Gas path: three kinds of gas path pipelines are generally set, nitrogen, hydrogen, air, and helium can be added if conditions permit. The gas route enters the room from the outdoor cylinder room, and the filter shall be added on the gas route to enter the room.

The rear main pipeline is distributed to each chromatograph through a pressure stabilizing valve, and a needle valve is added before connecting each chromatograph.

Ventilation: the chromatography room has hydrogen and carbon dioxide released by combustion, so good ventilation is required. generally, the room is set at 400 × 400mm above the ground 200mm below the side wall of the corridor.

of the louver vents.
